Well, I'm sure I'm the odd one here, but I actually kind of like this name. A Hall is a stately room, in old buildings the biggest and fanciest room reserved for formal gatherings, like a parlor but way more impressive. I don't see it as any less acceptable than names clearly taken from places like Boston or Brooklyn or occupations like Harper. Might be confused with Hal or Paul or Holly.
I’d rather be a Hall than one of many boring Jaedyns.
Only acceptable as a nickname for Hallie, other than that it’s a no from me.
Boring and too surnamey.
Hall Roosevelt (1891-1941) was the younger brother of American First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt. His name was taken from his mother's maiden name.
This is one of those names which should stay a surname. It doesn't sound like a person's name at all. At least some other surnames used as forenames, pretentious as they usually are, can be pulled off.
Ugly, pretentious, and doesn't sound like a real name.
I'm not quite sure whether I should find this pretentious or just flat out bizarre. It's a room, after all. And a place. It works much better as a surname, that's for sure.
"Hall" is also used as a pet form of "Hallie".
