Hania can also be spelled Hanya... like the dancer Hanya Holm (though her real name was Johanna). 6 girls were given this spelling in 2012. I find it to be beautiful and less prone to mispronunciation. We have chosen this name if we have a daughter.

This is probably the best alternative I've found for my given name (Hannah) so far, and believe me, I've been looking for quite a while now. I might adopt it as a general nickname, like my friend is referred to as "Jakki" in most informal occasions, rather than her given name, Jacqueline.
