The Greek form of HorusIn Ptolemaic Alexandria's mythology, Harpocrates is the god of silence. He was adapted by the Greeks from the Egyptian god Horus, with his name being adapted from the Ancient Egyptian Har-pa-khered or Heru-pa-khered meaning "Horus the Child". He was seen as representing the newborn sun that rose each day at dawn. He formed a trinity with Raet and Montu in Karnak and Medamud.
