Meaning "goat", from the Middle English hircyne, from Latin hircinus, from hircus, goat.Hircine is the name of the Daedric prince of the hunt and animals in the popular video game series 'The Elder Scrolls'. He is also know as 'The Huntsman of The Princes' and 'The Father of Manbeasts' (due to him being the creator of were-beasts, such as lycanthropes). Hircine's traits and appearance are similar to that of the Celtic god Cernunnos, and images of him depict him with the head of a horned beast (a goat-like head but with antlers like a deer).
