Ignatia Broker (1919–1987) was an Ojibwe (Native American) writer and community leader from Minnesota. She is best known for the novel 'Night Flying Woman', published in 1983, which tells the story of Broker's great-great-grandmother and her family's life before and after contact with white explorers. She was an enrolled member of the Ojibwe tribe and the Ottertail Pillager Band.
Sounds strong! I associate Ignatia with the word "ignite" which make it very fiery to me.
Iggy, Nat, Nia, Gia and Tia are potential nicknames.
A lot of people think the masculine form is feminine enough and they prefer Ignatius on a girl. I think they think that Ignatia is ugly and it’s trying too hard. Just like the conflict with Rowan and Rowanne. I think both names are good for a girl! Ignatia makes a proper girl name though!
