I think the name James is too common, and Jim and Jimmy are too informal. Also, both are too classical. So, I looked at the trendy names. But the name Jameson is too like a surname. So, we should use the name Jimin.

This is my name (I'm a girl) and I love it. It's interesting to see that people rated it as 'masculine' here because it is much more common for girls in South Korea although it is a unisex name. Also it is a relatively contemporary name, so most of Jimins would be under 40s.

Shin Ji-min, better known as simply Jimin, is a South Korean idol singer and rapper. She is best known for being the leader and main rapper of the girl group AOA, which debuted in 2012 under FNC Entertainment. In 2015, Jimin was a semi-finalist in the first season of Unpretty Rapstar. During the show, she released several successful collaboration singles, most notably "Good Start" and "Puss".

Park Ji-min, better known as Jimin, is a lead vocalist and dancer of BTS. Jimin made his debut on June 13, 2013, as a member of BTS on Mnet's M! Countdown with the track "No More Dream" from their debut single album 2 Cool 4 Skool. Together with the members of BTS, he went on to win a series of awards and performed at several events such as the Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA). Jimin has one younger brother, and became interested in performance after watching singer Rain perform in eighth grade. He subsequently moved to Busan High School of Arts modern dance department. He decided to audition with BigHit after his dance teacher suggested he audition for an entertainment company. After being accepted, he transferred to Korea Arts High School is Seoul, graduating alongside group-mate V in 2013.
