Joey Ramone (1951-2001) was the lead vocalist of the New York punk rock band the Ramones. He was one of the founding members of the band in 1974, and stayed as a member until they disbanded in 1996. Joey wrote many of the Ramones' most famous songs, including "I Wanna Be Sedated", "Sheena is a Punk Rocker" and "Bye Bye Baby". He also had a lead role in the cult teen film "Rock 'n' Roll High School" and produced his own solo album near the end of his life.
