Meaning & History

From the Hebrew name יְהוֹשֶׁבַע (Yehosheva') meaning "Yahweh is an oath". In the Old Testament she is the daughter of King Jehoram of Judah. With her husband Jehoiada she rescued the future king Joash, her nephew, from a purge. Variant of the name Jehosheba.
