Some people pronounce this as Lay-luh, but this spelling makes it look like it would be pronounced Lee-luh. To avoid mispronunciation I would spell it Layla (or Leila).

This is the name of one of my friends, and she pronounces it LEE-luh.
I can't tell if this is supposed to be LAY-luh or LEE-luh. If it's the former, it's way to ambiguous; and if it's the latter, it's... pettish. Like Lulu.
