Very old-timey and whimsical sounding. Reminds me of fairy tales like Hansel and Gretel.
Common but cute name! Great for a book.
I always think of The Sound of Music when I hear this name, so not a bad association. I really like this name!
This name is beautiful. What does it matter that it rhymes with weasel, anyway? That certainly isn't the first thing I think when I hear this name, and besides, weasels are cool.
My name is Liesl, and I love it. Don't be a hater!
Stupid. It rhymes with weasel, diesel, and measles.
Not exactly pretty, but has a catchy ring to it.
I prefer Liesel. It is still a nice name.
I think this is a lovely name. It makes me think of the character in the Sound of Music, and I grew up with that movie. It's unfortunate it has to rhyme with weasel.
This is a beautiful name, although not frequently used in Germany or Austria now. However, like the USA, they are going back to the old-fashioned names so this will probably gain in popularity. It is the nickname for Elisabeth.
My sister's name is Liesl. I don't really find the name Liesl uncommon because I actually know 5 people with the name, and then I've seen 2 people called Liesl in movies, and then in the movie 'A Little Princess' the girl Sarah (who has my name) is played by a little girl called Liesl. I really think it is a beautiful name and my sister is really special so I think the name is special too.
My name is Liesl, but spelled LISEL. I really like my name, but it's too true - everyone calls me Weasel.
I think this is a very pretty name. Too bad it rhymes with "weasel" -- I guess kids would make fun of a classmate named Liesl.
