Lon and Lonny were nicknames for ancestors in my family named Alonso with 's' not 'z'. Since we do not have Spanish heritage (English ancestry) that may be the reason for the 's'. Finally after 3 generations of Alonso there were two generations of Lon, just Lon. I always liked all combinations of the name.
