I should note that this name, which was extremely common in the Middle Ages, eventually became rare, although it survived among former noble families. However, Lopo seems to have been experiencing a small resurgence in the 21st century. The database Geneall lists quite a few boys with this name born in the 15 years or so. The name has also been used by some Portuguese celebrities, including the sons of the well-known fado singer Cuca Roseta (b. 2008), chef Kiko Martins (b. 2018) and influencer nutritionist Mariana Abecassis (b. 2019).
