Cuneiform LÚ, (or lú as rendered in some texts) is found as a Sumerogram in the Epic of Gilgamesh (an Epic poem from ancient Mesopotamia). It also has a common usage in the 1350 BC Amarna letters as the Sumerogram for "man".Cuneiform was a writing system that was used to write several languages of the Ancient Near East from the early Bronze Age until the beginning of the Common Era. It is the earliest known writing system and was originally developed to write the Sumerian language of southern Mesopotamia (modern Iraq).
Lú (also Lug, Lugh, Lúg and Lúgh) is a name that, as a classic, can stand on its own as a given name. Although a derivative of a masculine name, it makes a great unisex name. Though, the other versions of this particular name are best suited / remained as a male name.Lu, Lù, Lú, and Lü are transliterations for the classic Burmese unisex name လူ (LOO) "person, human". Both the Burmese and Irish version have a very rich history. I find this succinct two-letter name quite charming. All of its forms are among my most favourite names for a boy and a girl.
