For a boy as a nickname for Luke, would you pronounce it like the word Lucky or Luke-ee?
Beautiful name.
I think of four leaf clover when I see this name.
I know the people with this name could not control it cause naming a child is the parents job, but why? Why in the world would someone ever EVER name their child this? I seriously cannot believe it, leave names like this to a dog.
Ridiculous.
Okay so what? Happy is one thing but LUCKY is the next. This is just so horrendous.
I’d pronounce it “Loo-ky” so the kid would get less picked on as it is a diminutive of Luke.
Hi, I'm a boy that's named Lucky. I know it's a bad name and it's usually for dogs but I had no choice :(
Unlucky to have this name. I know a cute dog named Lucky, though. ;)
Dumb name for a kid.
It's fine as a nickname but I wouldn't use it as a given name.
I think this is super cute as a nickname.
The name Lucky means something resulted from good luck.
Dog name.
I am a boy, my parents named me Lucky. But some people told me, "Your name is a girl's name. Many times I've seen girls' named Lucky. I say to myself, this name can be for a boy or a girl.
My son's name is Lucky, given at birth, legal name. I lost his twin, to an etopic pregnancy on top of a uterine pregnancy. They found and took the tubal fetus. They said I would lose both during the surgery, as I was 34 and at risk anyway. He came out with flying colors, and I continued on until mothers day 1996, when he came feet first. Another emergency C-section and I had a healthy, perfect 8lb boy. He was "Lucky". He is now in college and his name has brought not only laughter at times, but opportunities as well. Greatest kid on earth!
I don't think the name deserves all that much hate. It's not a good formal first name, but Lucky is a cute nickname for the much more formal name Felix.
Only a good name for a dog. It's terrible for a person. Also, it's an adjective! It's like naming your kid 'Good.'
You have got to be kidding me. Seriously, this is not a name, it is an ADJECTIVE!
Does anyone actually have this name? I hope not.
Good name for a dog.
I really like this name, but I would spell it 'Lakhi' like 'LAH-key'. (this was the closest to that name I could find). I think it's a great name for a girl or a woman.
This name sounds very stupid. Not only that, but it shows that the parents expect too much from their son and want him to be an overachiever. I also think of the Britney Spears song, which is a good song but kind of sad, and that annoying leprechaun from the Lucky Charms commercials. I can just hear that leprechaun singing that really irritating song.
Gosh, I hope no one is going to name their son this today. Maybe it sounded okay in the 1940s or so, but I have a funny feeling it would simply lead to stupid jokes about being lucky, and, of course, ''getting lucky''. It's a very goofy and infantile name.
I guess this is cute, but it is a bit commonly used for pets, especially dogs. As a nickname it would be better.
I actually can't believe how cute this name sounds! I'm not sure if I'd use it, but it has a lovely sound, especially on a boy.
This name can seriously jinx a person.
It sounds quite stupid as a name for an actual human. Even for a dog, it's a cliche name.
Tacky. Just tacky. I'd never even call a dog that. For me, at least, it conjures up images of a cheesy, sleazy, card-shark sort of guy. I've never actually met anyone with this name, and that's quite a good thing.
It fits a dog, but not a human being. What if the child gets a chronic depression?
