This sounds childish for me but I think it sounds very masculine because it is associated with words like "man" or "manly" in my opinion. It's okay for a nickname for Emmanuel and Manuel.

As a nickname for Manuel and Emmanuel it's pretty good. But it's a bit too mimimalist and boring to have as an independent name.

Just masculine enough without spitting in your eye. Better than Rockie or Axel for the subtlety factor.
