Margaretta "Daisy" Spedden (1871-1950) was a first-class passenger on the Titanic who survived the sinking along with her husband and son. She wrote a story for her son from the point of view of her son's toy polar bear Polar (which he brought with him on the Titanic). Many years later the manuscript was rediscovered and turned into a children's book called Polar the Titanic Bear.
Margaretta Angelica Peale (1795 – 1882) was an American painter, one of the Peale family of artists. The daughter of James Peale, she was the sister of Sarah, Anna, and Maria Peale. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she was taught by her father, and painted primarily still lifes, some of which were copies of his work.
