My dog is named Marsha, and as a nickname we call her Miriam (we don't know why), so I've always viewed this name as a good one, but more for pets and animals rather than people. Although I'm sure it would be nice on a person, I can't imagine a baby, toddler, or young child with the name.

Marsha Stevens-Pino (born Marsha Carter on August, 20 1952), singer, musician, songwriter, recording artist, and the "mother of contemporary Christian music." She wrote the well-known song "For Those Tears I Died (Come to the Water)" in 1969 when she was sixteen years old. After divorcing her husband of seven years, she came out as a lesbian and eventually married Cindy Stevens-Pino in 2008. Perhaps defying all expectations (and certainly a lot of adversity and some vicious backlash), Marsha Stevens-Pino holds fast to her born again Christian faith. She currently leads BALM Ministries (Born Again Lesbian Music).
