Scripts Μενεπτόλεμος(Ancient Greek)

Meaning & History

Derived from the Greek adjective μενεπτόλεμος (meneptolemos) meaning "staunch in battle, steadfast", which consists of the Greek verb μένω (meno) meaning "to stay, to remain" as well as "to last, to withstand" combined with the Epic Greek noun πτόλεμος (ptolemos) meaning "war".

A known bearer of this name was Meneptolemos of Apollonia, an Olympic victor from around 500 BC.
