Meaning & History
He was a son of Pharaoh Ramses II and Queen Isetnofret, and the fourth ruler of the Nineteenth Dynasty of Ancient Egypt (c.1213 BCE - c.1203 BCE). His throne name was Ba-en-re Mery-netjeru, which means 'The Soul of Ra, Beloved of the Gods'. He is presumed to be the father of a later Nineteenth Dynasty pharaoh, Seti II and Twosret (who was also Seti's wife and a pharaoh in her own right), and the usurper Amenmose, with Queen Takhat.
