My name is Mona, We're in 2022 and I'm 20 years old. I'm from Iran and in my country, the meaning of Mona is the ultimate wish that a person can have, I love my name so much cause it makes me feel like a strong girl who can do anything
Also I read in the comment that Mona is a girl with black hair and this is exactly true about me. I have a big brown eyes and long straight black hair. In the end of my comments I want to say I love my name and if I could choose my name for beginning, I would choose Mona for sure.
It's cute. It gives me the same vibe as Luna or Nora. I like it.
Most beautiful name of all time. ❤️ ❤️ ❤️.
I love this name! I'm thinking of calling my future child Mona Belle (Belle being the middle name) and having Monny as a nickname, similar to Molly.
Extremely sexy name.
I am a Mona from China! Because it sounds like one of the characters in my Chinese name AND one of Ross's ex-girl friends is called Mona and she is pretty (just kidding). But I do like this name for two reasons: 1. I don't know anyone else with this name. 2. It only has two syllables so does not sound too dramatic. The biggest problem might be that whenever English speakers asked my name, I have to repeat it several times because they have never heard of it, lol.
It's a cute name but you should avoid it if you ever plan on moving to Italy. It's a slang word in Italian. In some regions it means 'fool/idiot' while in other regions it can have a really vulgar meaning (very vulgar word for the feminine body parts, similar to a word in English that starts with the letter C). Just something to be aware of. I personally think that outside of Italy it is lovely.
I actually think that this name is really cute and that it fits in with current naming trends. It falls into a similar category as Nora or Lena which are getting more common.
I love how gentle the name Mona sounds. Not my favorite name, but it sounds like the name of a beautiful teenage girl from the middle ages.
I am a Mona, born in 1973. Only 0.023% of girls born that year were named Mona. I love my name. I didn't like it much as a child, but as an adult I think it is a great name. It is uncommon, but not unheard of. I am usually the only "Mona" most people know, which is awesome. I'm very unlikely to meet someone who's had a bad experience with anyone named Mona. Whenever I hear "Mona", it's pretty safe to assume that someone is either talking to or about me. Because it is so rare, it is very versatile and fitting of the bearer. I mean, haven't you ever known anyone whose name just didn't match their image/personality? I once (in the late 1990's) knew a beautiful, statuesque, sophisticated, blonde bombshell named Bertha Earline. That name just didn't seem to fit her. The name Mona can be playful, cute, sophisticated, sensual, powerful, feminine, strong,.. anything the woman is, because it is so rare that most people don't have a mental image of what/who "Mona" is. My middle name is Leeann.
This name makes me laugh! I used to spell it as "moaner"!
Sounds like "moaner" pronounced with some kind of accent. Not good.
Mona is my middle name. I'm named after my maternal grandmother. I've found much more meanings for the name than the ones on this site and I love the diversity of it. My favourite meaning is "moon".
This name sucks in English. It sounds like a black person or a New York Jew pronouncing 'moaner'. I hope that doesn't sound racist, but isn't that how it goes in America?
I actually went through a phase where I loved this name, but now I think about it, the name Mona, makes you sound as if you complain a lot.
Makes me think of Mona the Vampire. Most girls I know called Mona have dark hair and lightish skin, sorta scary.
