I don’t like it, Plus, it sounds difficult to pronounce (More-Rie-uh). Mariah is way better. And don’t be caring if it’s too associated with Mariah Carey.

It's rude to say bad things about the name Moriah (my name). It's a pretty name that means 'seen by God'. If you just wanna say it's trashy, REMEMBER! Consider that children may be reading the comments about their own names.

It's okay. I used to like it a lot more than I do now, but I still like it a little.

Not sure why, but this name sounds comedic to me. The meaning is also somewhat nothing-ish. I guess that's why it's an uncommon name. I really consider this a bad and ugly name. I wouldn't give it to my child.

I think Moriah is a very pretty name, but I don't think I could ever use it. Mount Moriah is the name of a cult that's located within a few miles of where I live.

This is my middle name, however my mother spelled it M-O-R-I-A and left the h off. It makes it very unique BUT I often have to correct the pronunciation because it is usually mistaken for Maria. Even though my mother used the spelling M-O-R-I-A we use the pronunciation of Mariah.

I don't like this name because I hate when people use O in place of an A. It looks so trashy, and worse yet, pretentious.

@bananarama. The name is Moriah. Not Mariah, which has an entirely different meaning. I've also seen all your comments, and they're all like "don't name your kid this because it is so trashy!" Please stop. People might not agree with you. Anyway, it's really upsetting seeing all these type of comments from you- of course it's okay to dislike names, but don't go overboard- because you are.

For some reason I'm okay with it when it's spelled Mariah, but not Moriah. This spelling makes me think too much of Moria, the place from Lord of the Rings. I don't like the place Moriah from Lord of the Rings.

It reminds me of Moria, like the mine from Lord of the Rings.
