I have a best friend called Narissa. And NO the Disney film Enchanted did NOT make up the new spelling. Narissa is 11 years old, much older than the film.
Disney aren't the type of place that makes up name spellings, they may find it from somewhere or even the producer's or writer's daughter could be called Narissa.

Not one of my favorite names but I did know a girl many years ago with this name. She was a very lively, energetic girl with a great sense of humor.
