This is my brother's name, and in the States people have a hard time pronouncing it, so he goes by Oz. Since it is a popular name of Spanish soap opera 'novela' male protagonists, it is considered highly masculine and hero-like in Latin America. Many professional athletes seem to have this name for those reasons, I'm sure.
I like it when spelled with a "w", Oswaldo. Plus you can forget Oswaldo Sanchez, the best goalie around and proudly Mexican!
