"Coptic (Hellenized)" would be a more appropriate usage for this name, as Paphnoutios is a direct hellenization of the Coptic name ⲡⲁⲫⲛⲟⲩϯ (Paphnouti) rather than directly of Ancient Egyptian pa-pȝ-ntr. The Coptic language first arose in the 3rd century AD, and the earliest saints that bore this name were born back then and shortly after that, i.e. Coptic existed in their lifetime and they themselves were Copts as well.Sources:
