This is the name I chose when I legally changed my name. Admittedly I do pronounce it "pazz" (coz of thick Aussie accent). I love how it means peace, the connection to Mother Mary and, for me, it feels more like a unisex name (am aware it's normally a fem. name):)
Paz is my name, it means Peace in Spanish and I think it’s both a simple and special name for someone.
Paz is a diminutive of Pacificación.
Paz Ortega Andrade from Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker.
Actress Paz de la Huerta is a famous bearer. By the way, her name literally means "peace of the orchard" in Spanish.
Paz is a Marian name, from la Virgen/Nuestra Señora de la Paz (Our Lady of Peace), a title of Mary in the Catholic church. [noted -ed]
Also Portuguese, Pronounced [PAHSH].
La Paz is the capital city of Bolivia.
I love this name. It's short, sweet, memorable and pretty. And I like the meaning, too. It's nice that Paz has Hebrew origins as well. Though I'm not sure about using it as a first name (as it would take a long time to convince the people where I live to pronounce it the Spanish way), it would make a perfect middle name for me.
Sorry, but the first thing I thought of when I saw this name was Pez candy!
Actress Paz Vega, from Spain.
Paz also means "gold" in Hebrew.
