Possibly derived from the Baltic thunder god Perkunas or even Chistian Saint Peter.

Isn't this a variant of Pekka (Peter)?

In ancient finnish and estonian mythology, Pekko (also written as Pecko or Pellonpecko) was the god of crops and ale, and also of song and poetry. Word comes from ancient germanic word 'beggwa', meaning 'barley'.
