Pelleas

The name of a knight in Arthurian legends that first appears in the Old French Post-Vulgate Cycle and later in Sir Thomas Malory's 'Le Morte Darthur' and in Alfred Lord Tennyson's 'Idylls of the King'. The form Pelléas was used by Maurice Maeterlinck in his play 'Pelléas et Mélisande' (1893), which was later adapted by Claude Debussy into an opera (1902). It may be related to Peleus or Pelias, names from Greek myth.
