Pleione

This name means "more", or "plenty" (pleiôn). It is the name of an Oceanid nymph from Mount Cyllene in Arcadia (southern Greece) who was the wife of Atlas. She may have been numbered amongst the Epimelides (nymphs of the flocks) and presided over the multiplication of the animals due the fact that her name refers to increase, and that her grandson, Hermes, was the god of animal husbandry.
