The name Rohit has taken off around the world, not just as a Indian name as a lot believe. It is used in Europe and in America and is not considered just as a Indian name. Many have chosen to give the name to their child because it emphasizes the meaning of the first Rays of the sun. This is a feeling of warmth and joy of the occasion of having the child. So one could say the name Rohit is the feeling of joy and warmth that one feels for such an occasion. Now a widely used name and becoming very popular as the years go by. I love the name.
