The name Roland is a very cute name, but I would honestly prefer the Italian version of it (Orlando) because to me it just sounds better but other than that I kind of like this name. :)
Rol (Roll) can be a nickname. If you're feeling brave, instead of Rol call them Spincycle, Rolypoly, Somersault, Ferris (ferris-wheel), Baller, if it rolls call it. No Roland is safe, not anymore!
Reminds me of "Roland the Farter". HATE this name. It is only suitable for sixty-year-olds with no hair. Very sorry to anyone with this name.
I met a very bad person with this name but it suits him. It doesn't sound strong, it sounds like a little weak posh man who wears vests every day.
Twins could be Roland and Ronald because they are anograms of each other.
It’s cute yet attractively masculine.
I really like this name. I love all the names meaning "famous" because that's a very beautiful meaning. I think Roland Robert or Robert Roland would make an awesome combo because the names are quite similar and that's because they also share the same first element "Hrod" meaning "fame".
The name Roland is cute, handsome, friendly & underappreciated in my opinion. I think it should be used a whole lot more! =)
I like it because it's never really been a very common name. The first time I recall hearing was when my parents were talking about the Stephen King character, Roland. I've liked the name ever since.
I like Roland. It's a very strong and handsome name.
Sounds like a chubby (not fat) little boy who destroys sandtrucks for fun.
I like this name best when pronounced ro-LAHND. It sounds very regal.
Roland is an excellent name, although one ripe for being teased. If your child is tubby, he will certainly be called Rollie Pollie.
I think Roland is a nice name (although I prefer the Spanish form Rolando) but it's probably unusable here in the UK due to strong association with the TV puppet 'Roland Rat'.
I think this is a very nice name. You can also use "Rolly" as a nickname.
