This name is also an insult in certain southern states of the US. Personally, I think that should be completely dropped, because this is one of my favorite names, period. I think of a shy, cute, and overall sweet person when I hear it! Rube Goldberg, being none of those, however has a REALLY nice beard, so that's a fine exception. Overall, 10/10 name.

Rube Goldberg is probably the best known of all Rubes. He was a cartoonist best known for creating convoluted inventions that did a simple task in a very roundabout way. (The board game Mousetrap is based on Goldberg's inventions.) Today, his name lives on in the Rube Goldberg Competition, in which high school and college students compete to create machines that do the simplest tasks in the most complex of processes.
