Super rare name. Yeah. It's the Japanese word for Cherry Blossom that blooms around End of March and First week of April. Does sound perfect for Spring time born Babies in March and April Aries born girls.

This name is popular in Japan. That's one reason why I don't like the name Sakura.
The second reason is that some people would think that a child named Sakura would have been named that because her parents are complete "otakus," so I'm not sure if I wanted to give this name to my daughter, regardless of whether she's a mixed-race (in my case Japanese and Polish/English) child or not. I'm one of the few people on BtN who likes Japan yet is not a fan of anime, would you believe it.

I do like the meaning though, so I might pair up the kanji for "cherry blossom" (桜) with a different kanji. Examples that I like include Tao (多桜) which means "many cherry blossom" and Neo (音桜) which means "sound of the cherry blossom."

Sakura is a really pretty name and the meaning "cherry blossom" is lovely. ^^ Obviously I think of Sakura Haruno in Naruto. She isn't my fave character or anything but that's who I think of. Anywho, I rate the name Sakura 10/10. Other cute Japanese girl names I recommend are Kari, Nami, Ami, Yumi and Mika.

It's a really nice name, but it's kinda stale. Practically every manga and anime seems to have a character named Sakura. Granted, it is used quite a bit in reality, but not to the extent in manga and anime. Plus it's a favorite of otakus, and it's a stock name for Mary Sues in fanfics. And I've heard of non-Japanese people considering it for daughters - that wouldn't work well.

This is a ridiculously common name among female anime characters. Unfortunately, I associate it primarily with Sakura Haruno of Naruto fame, whom I detest, so it's not a name I like a lot. The meaning is much prettier than the name itself anyways.
