I hate the guts of that show Sanjay & Craig, but otherwise Sanjay isn't terrible in itself.

I feel like this is a go-to name for male Indian characters, along with Raj. I really hate the show Sanjay and Craig.

This name is okay... but that god awful show Sanjay and Craig has ruined this name for me forever.

(I swear, worst decision of my life...)

Sanjay Gandhi was an Indian politician. He was a member of the Nehru-Gandhi dynasty. During his lifetime he was widely expected to succeed his mother, Indira Gandhi as head of the Indian National Congress, but following his early death in a plane crash his elder brother Rajiv became their mother's political heir, and succeeded her as Prime Minister of India after her death. Sanjay's widow Maneka Gandhi and son Varun Gandhi are leading politicians of the BJP.

Sanjay is an alright, okayish Indian boy name that doesn't sound too bad. It's a bit of a stereotypical name used for Indian male characters in quite a number of shows, though. The downside of this name is it reminds me of that crap show Sanjay and Craig. An Indian masculine name that I think is better than Sanjay is Ajay.

The name 'Sanjay' comes in the context of the Great Indian Epic 'Mahabharatha'. Sanjay in Mahabharatha was said to have clairvoyance abilities and he used to tell the blind King Dhritarashtra about the war which was going on in kurukshetra.

I think it sounds quite nice actually, but I don't care much for it. If there hadn't been that boy named Sanjay in my fifth grade English book I probably would like the name more.

I have an Indian friend named Sanjay, and apparently it is very popular in India.
