September is the name of the girl who is the main character in the bestselling "Fairyland" series of children's novels published by author Catherynne M. Valente since 2011. The first book in this series, "The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making", was mentioned in Valente's adult fantasy novel "Palimpsest" (2009) as a book the character November had read as a child. She then wrote the children's book as a crowd-funded project. This was a hit and spawned the best-selling series.
