This is the name the actress Sherilyn Fenn, best known for her role as Audrey on Twin Peaks, goes by, and I think it was a wise decision, as her real name Sheri Ann sounds somewhat incomplete and girly, and by that I mean, a cute thing to call a little girl, but not the maturest and most sophisticated of names for an adult. Sheryl and Sherilyn sound more mature, even if not the sort of highly serious and officious names that make you sound more like a scientist than an actress. Sherilyn sounds prettier than Sheryl because of the ending that adds a certain old-fashioned feminine charm to the name. It's quite common in modern names as well, but it doesn't sound very pretty when combined with random syllables rather than names. So, this is a pretty name, but not a name for ''credibility'' points, yet far more mature than rubbish names like Kayla.
