Smith Smith hahahahahaha.
Dear all the people who are saying this is just a surname,
It is not. Not to mention, if your name isn't Smith then your opinion just doesn't count. As a fellow Smith, I like my name a lot and know my opinion is actually valid. Smith out!
I think this is just a surname.
This is just a surname. Has anyone met a person whose first name is actually Smith?
Unique as a first, common as a last, but a surname at the end.
This is a surname, not a name. Same goes with Jackson, Johnson, Harrison et cetera.
Last name.
This is a last name not a first name, people.
My last name. Its boring-ness is balanced by my more unusual first name. But honestly, it might be boring, but it could be worse. I went to school with a girl whose last name was BUTT.
Too surnamey to be a first name.
I don't know why people hate on this name, it's a very popular surname but not a common first name, it sounds manly and it suits a kid as much as an adult. Give this name a chance.
It's really not that bad - it's kinda cool. To me, it gives the same vibe as Jack; manly but simple. I wouldn't use it but I totally could see a kid named this.
Such a plain name, regardless of if it's used as a first, middle or last name.Nothing special about 'Smith' very plain and exceedingly overused.
Too weird as a first name, but good to put in the middle, especially when people might think it's just a surname.
I'm surprised this hasn't come back into use, considering the trend of using surnames as first names. Hm, maybe the spelling will be changed to Smyth to make it more feminine, because using a y always seems to do the job. Haha, totally joining. This is hilarious.
I really like the idea of this as a first name but it will only work with a few select surnames, and you can call him Smitty which is always fun.
I can't believe someone would ever name their child this. As a last name, ok, but as a first name never. No wonder it totally died out after the 1920's. I hope it never comes back. That's horrible.
With all the surnames becoming first names I am surprised that this name hasn't came back in style.
It's only the most common English surname, and an occupation as well. It makes for a terrible first name. At least Taylor sounds like a first name.
Considering that Smith is the one of the most common surnames in the United States right now, having a child named Smith Smith would be just bad. Smith's a cool name, but I just think it's a better surname than a first name.
