St John is pronounced Sinjin when it's a first name because that's how Saint Jean, the French version, is pronounced.
Sounds rather pretentious and unnecessary. What's wrong with just using John?
Confused as to why you would name your child St John in the first place (as opposed to John?) and then on top of it pronounce it as sinjin? I would love to hear someone's reasoning behind it.
Very interesting.
