Personally, I like it better as a girls name, Tally for short. =)

This, to me, seems like one of those names that could be masculine or feminine, depending on how you looked at it. It sounds like a name from a fantasy story. It makes me think of a lucky person who's been to lots of places and exposed to much, with a rather jaunty and cheeky sense of humor.
