Nice and cool.
I’m a 26 y/o woman and I am named Tanner. Kids never made fun of it or thought of it as a “boy's name” although that is all made up anyway. If anything, it is uncommon enough that kids just assumed it was a “girl's name” and when a boy with that name came to our school everyone asked him why he had a girl's name lol. It’s grown on me. I quite like it and get a lot of compliments on if. I didn’t like it when I was in middle school but the older I get the more I feel it suits me and I wouldn’t have it any other way :-)
I have a character from my stories named Tanner, he’s dating a chick named Shelly... I don’t know why, it just sounds like a surfer dude name to me.
I like it sooooooo much.
It’s alright as a name, I’m just put off that it reminds me of the leather tanning process. Which is kinda gross.
I think my name sounds good.
I usually only leave positive comments on names because I don't want to offend anyone, but to be honest I don't really like this one. When I hear this same I think of someone going to get a spray tan or something and I just think it's a weird name. But if your name is Tanner I'm sure you're pretty cool. Have a nice day everyone! :)
Only like it on a boy.
Somewhat handsome.
I picture a bratty little boy with this name.
All of the Tanner's I know are very quiet, but can be funny at times.
As far as occupational names go, this is among the least interesting. It also comes off as superlative, "Tanner than you..."
I don't think my name is sexy or hot or handsome. It's just normal.
My name is Tanner and I was named after my great-great grandfather.
I like the name Tanner. I have heard of it being used for girls, but much prefer it as a masculine name. I actually use it as a surname in my novel.
Tanner is a very good name, it is better than your name I bet.
A very nice name.
My name actually is Tanner. I'm an adult, and can't help but resent the little kid comments. I actually don't think it's that trendy, I never hear it. And while I'm not crazy about it, I prefer it to Tyler or Gage or some of those other names out there. I can personally say that I'm not rugged, but I am an intellectual. Also, I read somewhere that the name has been used (albeit rarely) since the end of WWII. I think I met an octogenarian someplace named Tanner. Anyway. Yeah.
A sexy, hot and handsome name. ;D
I know not everyone will like the same names but I do think that you should respect someone else's option to choose that name. It's fine to say that you don't like a name but to say that Tanner sounds like a lower class person is just ignorant. I have a friend that I went to school with and she had a little brother named Tanner and they were not even close to being lower class. From the 1st time I heard that name I fell in love with it so I named my son that. When I did I had never heard anyone else with that name other than my friends brother. Now I hear it a lot more but, oh well. And that name fits my son! He is cute, funny, popular and great at sports and has a heart of gold. I know being his mom you may think I am just saying all of that but that is all true anyone that has ever meet him has fallen in love with him. So a person that thinks that the name Tanner, or really any name, can make you lower class truly, you are the one that is lower class and ignorant. Because it is the person that makes you lower class not the name.
My brother's name is Tanner and I take offense to the comment that it sounds of a country lower-class name. My brother is a very intelligent little boy. He is also very sweet and funny. Tanner was a family surname and I love it.
I like the name Tanner, although the only Tanner I know is a girl. Her parents are South African, so maybe they use it more as a girl's name over there? I think Tanner is unusual, but in a good way.
I tend to like a lot of surname/occupation names but something about this one strikes me as far too trendy, I have a hard time taking it seriously sometimes.
'Tanner' makes me think of somebody who uses way too much fake tan, and is also a bit of a dipstick.
Hurrumph, I don't really like this name on either sex, but if you insist on using it, you'd better have a baby boy to give it to instead of a girl. This name sounds masculine, it's got that -er ending and everything. The name doesn't sound pretty, and it is weird to imagine that there may be adorable curly-haired toddlers in frilly dresses named Tanner. I pity the feminine and conventional girls and young women with this unattractive, boyish name that doesn't even sound very sophistocated, more like the name of lower class country guys. It does NOT sound spunky on tomboys or androgynous girls and women, and it doesn't sound cool on any other unconventional females either.
I think this is a great name, if you stayed 10 years old for the rest of your life.
I love this name. I just don't like that it's become so trendy.
Tanner sounds weak.
I really like this name for a BOY.
I really like this name. Tanner is very cute for a little boy! Very cute!
I really like this name for a boy. It makes me think of an adorable little boy who is athletic and fun who will grow up to become a hard worker in life. Im possibly considering this name if I have a son.
I once had a cat named Tanner. Since then, I've really liked this name. I never thought about it on a girl, but I think if I heard it, I would like it also. So, I suppose, I like on both sexes. It's such a cute name! Definitely one of my favorites.
I have always liked the name Tanner for a boy. It sounds rugged and handsome.
I know 3 Tanners and they're all different, but they all have one thing in common, they're all funny.
