Thalassa Cruso (1909-1997) was an expert on horticulture who hosted the PBS television show "Making Things Grow" and who frequently appeared as an expert on gardening on other programs. She was called "The Julia Child of Horticulture." (Cruso was her maiden name; in private life she used her married surname, Hencken.) http://www.alfordassociation.org/IRs/0330.htm
