Better than Thomas and I have always associated this name with Tom and Jerry, which is not a bad thing because it was one of my favorite cartoons when I was younger.
My chosen name is Tom, after my granddad, and I think it's a cool name. It could be a nickname or just a first name.
Guys called Tom are always so funny and just good vibes in general.
Boring, ugly, too short and too soft.
I am quite fond of this name (because it's mine) it is very dope indeed.
And to the persons who say it makes the people who have it boring, I bid you adieu.
When I think of a person who has this name, I usually think of Lord Voldemort (Tom Riddle) which isn't a positive association, but the name is good nonetheless.
Very cute name!
My boyfriend's name is Tom.
Yawn.
Really plain, boring, no charm, nothing interesting. I don't like it. Boring name, too soft also!
Very ugly.
This is an amazing name, all the Tom’s I know are kind, helpful and friendly. Thomas is also a great name.
My youngest’s name is Thomas Alistair and we call him Tom. I think that Tom is a lovely name and won’t really ever go out of style. It’s also one of those names that can grow with the child, which is great. The only downside to Tom is that in the U.K., Tom is terribly common, so a lot of the time people will remember my Tom as Alistair instead of Tom because they probably know like twenty Toms and have a Tom in their family. Tom really is a classic English name, but Tom is one of my favourites, along with Alistair.
Unfortunately there were 6 people named Tom in my year level at school alone. I probably know about 20. Too plain and boring for it to be used now. I don’t understand why anyone would use a name so horribly common.
Just about every other guy is named Tom. It's a meaningless typical name. Won't do anything to your child besides make him more boring.
It's a good name. Maybe it's too overused but it makes a good strong name.
This name is so boring and overused, I know a million Toms!
Too overused and childish, but it's a decent name.
This name is too overused in my opinion, but it's a great name.
I named my very cool son Tom. I of course would say he is cool as he is mine, but most agree, lol. Anyway, his birth certificate says Thomas after his Grandfather out of respect but we agree that Tom is cooler as a day to day name not just for a kid (age 7) but also throughout life. It is a solid, timeless name and is not faddish whilst remaining interesting. Our opinion. One of his friends at school has called him Tom Tom (lmao) and he just laughs. He has a great name.
Even though this name is extremely common and simple and also means a male cat, I still think it's an extremely sexy name. Tom is a nice, strong name for a little boy and a grown man.
Sexyness but tyronne is a sexyer name.
I wonder why France seems to love this name so much. It's been in their top 10 before, which is quite strange to me. Tom should only be left as a nickname, its just a little too plain as a full name.
This name is only good as a nickname. Do not give him this as his full name! It is not strong enough therefore it will make it more difficult for him to be taken seriously throughout life as 'Tom' sounds funny.. therefore is good only as a nickname.
Ugly name, and far to delicate for a boy.
I think it's a very good name for a boy. Every time I hear this name I imagine damn hot & sexy Tom Felton! But also I call "Tom" my best friend Tamara.
Far, far, FAR too common for my liking. Thomas is a fine name, but this diminutive of it I can't stand.
When I hear this name I think of Tom Marvolo Riddle (aka Lord Voldemort). I would name my son after Tom. In honor of Tom Riddle.
Personally I LOVE this name. It is too common, however.
Unfortunately, this name makes me think of Tom Cruise. I can't stand him or the ridiculous things that he does. Tom's also kind of boring, and is better off as a nickname.
This is the name, or nickname, of so many dislikeable people. Tom Cruise, Tom Tancredo, Tom DeLay, the annoying Tom Green, and blah blah blah. This seems to coincide with unpleasant personalities.
Reminds me of Voldemort in a flash now.
Tom Cruise puts me off this name, but Tom Hanks makes it alright again. A Tom that doesn't jump on couches, isn't whiny, egotistical or a cult follower is a good Tom.
I don't like this name much because of what it reminds me of either Death Eaters (Tom Felton plays Malfoy and Tom Riddle is Voldemort) or Tom Cruise. Neither do much to make the name Tom appeal to me.
What a great solid name, just the ultimate!
