Meaning & History

From ཨོ་རྒྱན (o-rgyan), the Tibetan name for the medieval Indian state of Oddiyana, which was notable for its role in the development and spread of Vajrayana Buddhism. It was also believed to be the birthplace of the legendary Buddhist teacher Padmasambhava.
