Used by J.K. Rowling in her 'Harry Potter' series of books as a personal name for a minor female character, perhaps due to its similarity to Wanda, taken from the form of Wakan Tanka used by the Omaha people. Wakan Tanka means "sacred, divine" in Sioux, and refers to their Great Spirit or Great Mystery conception.
