I've always loved this name but unfortunately it might be too out there for a lot of English speakers.

I personally think the name Wolfgang is a little out there, but I don't hate it. The name sounds Bada-- in a German accent though, 100/10. Though, Wolfgang can sound a little weird in an American accent. I definitely wouldn't use it myself, but if you can pull off a really good German accent, Wolfgang is the name for you!

These people commenting are ruthless. Just because it's a different name doesn't mean you gotta call it stupid or weird. It's unique and I personally love being named after Mozart and other famous men, it tends to give me a boost of confidence because nobody ever forgets my name.

This really works better as a German name than as an English name, and for obvious reasons. I still like the sound of the name though, but it works better as a nickname or a middle name unless you're German.

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is one of my favourite composers, I kind of like the English variant Wolfe / Wolf even though it is modern.

Wolfgang has a very strong and German vibe that is very far from an artistic one. I can see Wolfgang on a soldier or also on a street guy.

There is a main character in the 'Sense8' TV series that fits perfectly my idea about Wolfgang: a street guy involved in organized crime who is a thief, safecracker and skilled street fighter. It has quite a violent upbringing but with an intelligent, serious, diffident personality.

This is a family name of ours and my middle name (great-great grandparents emigrated from Austria) however in the English-speaking world people don't realize that it's a name with a great deal of history in Germanic culture. People think my name means "gang of wolves" or that it's somehow a modern, invented name. You'd think that the commenters who looked this up would realize that. I think it's a good name for music fans, how can you not be moved when listening to Mozart? I prefer the German pronunciation (W in German is a double V, not a double U) but I think it works in English.

Oh. My. Goodness. This name is horrible! It sounds like a band name, or a joke name. I can't believe people are actually named this! I can imagine some edgy 15 year old bad boy using this as his fake name. Easily the worst name I have ever heard.

Wolfgang sounds really strong and masculine. It also sounds a little bit mischievous and impish. 'Wolfie' is a great nickname, and who wouldn't love having such wonderful namesakes as Mozart and Goethe?

Strange name, but I've been starting to like it recently.

My parents named me Wolfgang, and I couldn't be prouder to bear the name. Most everyone else calls me Wolfy, and whoever commented that Wolfgang was an "immature" name is really the immature one for not being able to take the name seriously. I believe that Wolfgang is a very unique name with an even cooler backstory. It's also a great conversation starter! I would personally recommend a name such as Wolfgang because of its uniqueness and the personality that it brings with it.

I guess it's fitting if you're a German guy that stares at people all the time and has lots of weird, kinky sexual fetishes.

We named our son Wolfgang. We call him Wolfie. Everyone always remembers him and it suits him well so far!

This is a very interesting name. It makes me think of a gang of wolves, if I break it into syllables. But otherwise it reminds me of Wolfgang A. Mozart, one of the greatest composers of all times!

My brother LOVES this name. I like it too. He wants to name one of his kids this. He is a VERY talented piano player. He learned this name learning about and playing the music of Mozart.
