Meaning & History

Also known as Yujiang (禺疆) and Yujing (禺京). He is the god of water who oversees the season of winter and the north, and resides in the North Sea. He is described as having a human face and bird’s body, standing astride two red snakes and wearing two green snakes as earrings. Another version states that he has a black body and rides on two dragons.
