Zachariah is an angel in the 2005 'Supernatural' TV series, first appearing in 4.17 "It's a Terrible Life" where he introduces himself as Castiel's superior. He is played by American character actor Kurt Fuller.
I used to think that this name was very pretentious and awful, but now I quite like it. My youngest sibling was going to be named this but our mother "chickened out" and ended up going with Zachary instead. Zachary is fine but I prefer Zachariah or just Zac\Zach\Zak\Zack on its own.

It is a bit more unique and complex than Zachary, not to mention the different spelling variations you could come up with. But in my opinion, the classical/original spellings are the best.
It is also noticed that a variation of this name (ZACHARIAH) is also used among the Catholics in some parts of southern INDIA (especially in Kerala). The common names are: ZACHARIAS ZACHARIYA ZACHARIA and SCARIA for short
I like this name very much. It is much better than the overused "Zachary", and very different and strong. My brother has a friend named Zachariah Alton, "Alton" after his Dad, and I feel they fit him perfectly.
