Meaning & History

Kazakh form of Janpolad. It could also be that the name has a slightly different etymology, in which case it is derived from the Arabic adjective جميل (jamil) meaning "beautiful, handsome, good" (see Jamil) combined with the Persian noun پولاد (polad) meaning "steel".
