Meaning & History

Derived from the Greek noun ἀστυάναξ (astyanax) meaning "lord of the city", which consists of the Greek noun ἄστυ (asty) meaning "city, town" combined with the Greek noun ἄναξ (anax) meaning "master, lord, chief".

In Greek mythology, Astyanax was the son of HECTOR and his wife ANDROMACHE.
