A notable fictional bearer of the name is Dr. Umataro Tenma, a character in the manga Astro Boy and its subsequent anime adaptations. He is a scientist who builds Astro Boy in the likeness of his late son, but eventually rejects and disowns the robot when he noticed that he fails to grow.
