The first name of a son (Damerei Raleigh) born out of the secret marriage of Elizabeth Throckmorton, a maid-of-honor and later Gentlewoman of the Privy Chamber to Elizabeth I of England, and Sir Walter Raleigh. The name was claimed to be derived from the D'Amerie family, who Raleigh claimed to be descended from.
